The Journey to Building the Motgi Family Retreat

The dream to build a retreat that truly represented Rashmi and me was something we had cherished for a long time. We envisioned a place where we could settle down after moving back from the US, a sanctuary where we could enjoy our old age surrounded by family and friends. This dream was deeply personal, and finding the perfect piece of land to bring it to life was no easy task.

The Search: A Test of Patience

Our journey began with excitement and hope, but it quickly turned into a long and challenging quest. It took us more than 13 months to find the right farm. During that time, we visited over 25 different farms, each varying in size, shape, and location. We traveled to places in and around Hubli and Dharwad, exploring every possible option. Some farms were promising, but just as we were ready to proceed, they were sold to someone else. It felt like the perfect land was always just out of reach, testing our patience at every turn.

My parents played a crucial role in this search. They spent countless hours scouring the areas in and around Timmapura, determined to find the right spot. They met with numerous landowners, navigated endless backroads, and visited farms in all directions. Their dedication was unwavering, but as time went on, it became clear that finding the perfect farm was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

The Challenges of Land Ownership

One of the biggest hurdles we faced was dealing with the middlemen who were often involved in these land deals. They would quote outrageous prices, far beyond what we were willing to pay. Even more concerning was the issue of land ownership. Many of the properties we looked at had unclear or disputed ownership records. Some had complicated histories that made us uneasy, while others were tangled in legal battles. We didn’t want to invest in land that came with strings attached; we wanted something clean, clear, and entirely ours. Despite the setbacks, we never lost sight of our dream. We knew that the right land was out there, and we were willing to wait for it. Patience, as we learned, was a virtue.

Love at First Sight

Then, one day, we found it—the farm that made all the challenges worth it. Located near Timmapura, in the opposite direction of PRS Water Park, this piece of land felt like home from the moment we saw it. It was love at first sight. The land was the perfect size, the perfect shape, and, most importantly, it was in the right direction as per Vaastu. Everything about it just felt right. This land was clean, clear, and free of any complications. It was the kind of place where we could see ourselves building our dream retreat, a place where we could enjoy our golden years with those we love. After months of searching, negotiating, and waiting, we had finally found the perfect spot for the Motgi Family Retreat.

A Dream Coming to Life

The journey to find this land was long and often frustrating, but in the end, it was all worth it. We now have the right piece of land—a place that feels like it was meant for us. The next step is to bring our dream retreat to life, but we know there’s one more important decision to make: finding the right name for it. Just as the land had to feel right, so too must the name. It needs to capture the essence of what this place means to us—a retreat, a sanctuary, and a home for our family.

The Motgi Family Retreat is no longer just a dream; it’s becoming a reality. And as we take each step forward, we’re filled with excitement for the future and gratitude for the journey that brought us here. This retreat is more than just a place to live; it’s a reflection of who we are and the life we want to create together.
